Late night run with the lady!

Thursday, December 29th, 2005

Jocelyn likes aerobic workouts, but hasn’t done much running since high-school.

The other night, though, she and I went on an awesome late night 3 mile run.

I’m impressed with her. She is a natural runner. Two days later she had almost no pain!

I love running with her, and hope to do more of it. She and I love spending time together and what better to do than enjoy a little physical activity!

Given the stress-reducing properties of running, it’s a great activity to do with your partner.

We ran down to Friendship Heights and I got to show her these beautifully lit trees between two new buildings being constructed there.

They use a type of Christmas light I’ve never seen before. It is almost “neon white”, or blue-white. It looks like halogen. Very pretty.

She enjoyed them as much as I did.

Running along Wisconsin Avenue took us past several Christmas tree stands. I love the smell of pine, and the scent added to the magic of the run.

Get out there!

Running in Winter

Saturday, December 24th, 2005

I love it!

I love almost everything about it.

I love running when the snow is falling. I like the way the flakes feel when they land on my cheeks.

I like being able to see my breath.

I like the sound of snow crunching under my feet.

I like the fact that I can see all kinds of neat and new things through the trees that have lost their leaves.

I like running in the dark, and in the winter, there’s plenty of that.

I like it when it’s not too windy :)

I like that during the winter, I’m not watching my watch, since I’m not training for anything!

I like falling in love with running again during the winter…
