Edgemoor Classic 5K

This past Saturday I got to run a 5k with Jocelyn… It was so fun!

She isn’t much of a runner, preferring different aerobic activities. But she has been running a couple of miles here and there.

When we saw the flyer for the race I grabbed two and asked if she’d want to run it with me, she said, “Sure!”

Well, the weather (as has been my fortune this year) was perfect. It was little breezy, but sunny and not too cold.

It’s a small neighborhood race to benefit the Bethesda Elementary School and the Bethesda Public Library. I think almost all the people were parents, and they must have brought their kids, because there were tons of them!

It was heartwarming to see parents and kids running together. There were some tiny kids too! They made me look like grandpa. This little guy barely came up to my knee but he was hustling his little butt down the road!

Joce was a real trooper. Three miles is about a mile longer than her normal run, and the last mile was a little tough, but once she saw the finish line, she started running like the wind! I couldn’t believe it. And, I couldn’t keep up!

She’s got some long legs, and she used ‘em, all right!

She amazes me, constantly.

Her results:
Place/Tot: 123/364 !
Div/Tot: 15/200 !!
Time: 28:34
Pace: 9:12

Bravo, Joce!
